Steven Universe air times for March 20-26, 2017

No re-runs this week again. (There was an hour scheduled for Sunday, but it was removed.)

Ratings for Room for Ruby

Another less than stellar week, but this week it’s clear that the entire network did poorly. Room for Ruby was seen by 945,000 viewers on its premier. Here’s how Cartoon Network’s premiers did:

  1. Teen Titans Go! at 6:00 PM with 983,000
  2. Steven Universe at 7:30 PM with 945,000
  3. Powerpuff Girls at 7:45 PM with 817,000

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 130: Room for Ruby

GC13 and Sophia discuss Room for Ruby.

Well gee, if you can’t trust the cute ones, then who can you trust? Maybe Army would have been an eager convert once she found out that there were a lot more Homeworld Gems to punch than there were Crystal Gems…

There was some more Because Cartoon logic happening in this episode, but we still got to see a lot of Navy being cute and Lapis working through some issues of her own. Definitely be prepared for an upcoming episode where having that ship would have been really handy, though.

Search your heart, you know it be true.

Steven Universe air times for March 13-19, 2017

This schedule was easy to write: there aren’t any. 🙁

We’ll keep watching for a schedule change in our favor though.

Season three of Steven Universe arrives on Hulu

With little fanfare, it seems, season three of Steven Universe has finally been put up on Hulu, available to subscribers. That brings Hulu up to having the first 102 episodes of the series (yeah, Hulu apparently counts weird).

Still, it’s a lot of Steven to watch, going all the way up to Bubbled.

Immediate reaction to Room for Ruby

We learned a valuable lesson, one even with some lore attached: never underestimate the story power of character episodes. 😉

So yes, even though this was a story episode, it looks like we learned a very important lesson about balloons: sometimes, you just have to pop one.

Room for Ruby will air at 7:30 PM EST tonight, not 7:00 PM

In a last-minute schedule change, Room for Ruby is apparently airing half an hour later than previously planned. Make sure to keep an eye out, but expect it to be on at 7:30 PM EST tonight instead of the originally planned 7:00 PM.

New Steven Universe game: Save the Light

The first Steven Universe mobile game, Attack the Light, is getting a sequel, and this time it will be on consoles! Save the Light was just announced by developers Grumpface Studios and appears to sport some pretty nifty stuff.

You’ll be able to customize your party this time around, and you won’t be limited to Gems either: screenshots show Greg and Connie as party members in combat.

We’ll be learning more soon, since the team will be at PAX East covering the game.

Ratings for Tiger Philanthropist

Talk about the ratings nobody asked for. Tiger Philanthropist was seen by 902,000 viewers.

  1. Teen Titans Go! at 6:00 PM with 1,154,000
  2. Powerpuff Girls at 6:30 PM with 954,000
  3. Steven Universe at 7:00 PM with 902,000

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 129: Tiger Philanthropist

GC13 and Sophia talk about the newest, mewest episode: Tiger Philanthropist.

If ever there was a time where Lars was all of us, this was it (though we are not an individual, we are complex!). As individuals we do appear to be a lot better at knowing what we want than Lars, but then we’re not stand-ins for a thousands-strong fandom.

So even if the episode could have stood to have a bit more time to really stretch its arms out and settle into place, we got some fun wrestling. It wasn’t as good as Tiger Millionaire, but it didn’t have to be.

Besides, the Good Looking Gang ended up with the tag-team belts. Though they may not be as great as the Jungle Duo, the Good Looking Gang were always worthy competitors, and we wish them luck in their future matches.
