Oh boy, were we waiting for this. GC13, Sophia, Isabelle, and David deliver a lengthy discussion of the Wanted event, covering Stuck Together, The Trial, Off Colors, and Lars’ Head.

From the surprise reveal of Topaz’s voice to Steven’s triumphant return to Earth, we obviously had plenty to talk about.

Do you like your TV shows happy or sad? Was the death of Lars brutal enough? Do you think he’ll ever drink that juice box?

Don’t forget the real hero of the event though: Zircon. Without her, Steven and Lars wouldn’t have been able to make their escape. Plus, whether she had the right suspects or not, she gave us a lot to think about…

Soundtrack volume one released

The soundtrack went live on various music services at midnight. You can buy it on iTunes or Google Play for $10, or stream it on Spotify or Apple Music.

Unfortunately this does mean that almost everything Steven Universe-released on Aivi and Surasshu’s Soundcloud account had to be removed. Still, Cartoon Network allowed them to leave us with one last gift. It’s hard to think of any song that could be more appropriate.

Yesterday Aivi broke the news: when the soundtrack goes up for sale, we’ll be losing most of the Steven Universe tracks from Aivi and Surasshu’s Soundcloud account. This unfortunately includes the large majority of the instrumental tracks though they are still not for sale.

Despite that, have heart! What is being released was labeled as volume one and contained almost every vocal song that has ever appeared on the show; surely there must be a volume two being dreamed up, or perhaps even being worked on already.

Either way, this probably means the end of Music postings here. At the very least, it will turn most of the existing Music postings into dead links.

We’ll be getting one last hurrah though: on June 2 as the soundtrack releases and the songs go down, Cartoon Network has permitted one last thing to go up. What could it be?

Ratings for Wanted

Well people definitely wanted to watch the Wanted event. As a block, Stuck Together, The Trial, Off Colors, and Lars’ Head were seen by 1,532,000 viewers in its first half and 1,524,000 viewers in its second half.

Steven Universe wasn’t the only Cartoon Network show with a big premiere on Monday. Here’s how the network did:

  1. Steven Universe at 7:00 PM with 1,532,000
  2. Steven Universe at 7:30 PM with 1,524,000
  3. Teen Titans Go! at 6:00 PM with 1,470,000
  4. Ben 10 at 6:10 PM with 1,198,000
  5. Ben 10 at 6:30 PM with 1,129,000

Immediate reaction to Wanted

You’ll have to forgive us if this was a bit slow, we just… We just need a moment. That was intense.

Really Zircon did all a lot of the fun theorizing for us. There’s still a lot to chew on though! I mean, it’s Homeworld. What could be bigger than even a glimpse of Homeworld? How about a glimpse of Homeworld and a bunch more information?

We… Still need some moments.

GC13, Isabelle, and David give us a bit of calm before Wanted airs, discussing the track list of the first volume of the soundtrack (and other soundtrack-related stuff).

It has almost everything. The only big absences are the Little Butler theme and the donut training video song, which are at least partially made up for by the inclusion of Still Not Giving Up from the minisodes.

So of course everyone wants to know if/when we’ll get a volume two. It must certainly contain the show’s instrumental tracks, so everyone’s hoping that happens.

Now all we must do is wait for Wanted. It won’t be long now…

How melodramatic did you think the bomb was? Even if you think it was, you can’t deny that Jamie can bring the real drama just as well as he can bring the melodrama.

Characters (and giant fusions) not being animated, the Crystal Heart, and Aquamarine’s voice actress all come up.

And why hasn’t anyone said Doug’s name yet? He’s in the credits, he’s had an episode named after him, but so far he’s just “Dad” or “Mr. Maheswaran”.
