Lunar Sea Spire episode 60: unaired season-two episode titles

PodcastTitleGC13 and Sophia discuss the full list of season-two episodes Cartoon Network posted online a while back. This is full-on speculation mode; we have so much to look forward to in 2016 when Steven Universe begins premiering new episodes again.

Perhaps the episode titles most prone to hype are the ones that sound like they pertain to Amethyst: The Kindergarten Kid, Crack the Whip, and Steven vs Amethyst (and maybe even Gem Hunt?). If taken at face value, those episode titles imply some really heavy stuff inbound.

Of course there’s one thing we know for sure: Tiger Millionaire is making a triumphant return! That it took this long is of course terrible, but it’s definitely better to see him late than never.

ronaldoboardFAN ALERT! Our episode for the 28th will be a trivia episode! Do you have any Steven Universe trivia questions you’d like GC13 to quiz the others on? Submit a question to our Tumblr account, either as a question (“Tell us what’s on your mind”) or as fan mail.

We look forward to matching our knowledge of the show against your questions!

I could have sworn someone official said January, but haven’t been able to find the post or tweet; even if they did say it, Cartoon Network’s scheduling department is crazy anyway.

Still, if it’s anything like last year January is a safe bet.

I personally don’t see Amethyst becoming Jasper sized. It would conflict with the major idea of the show being that “perfection” is unrealistic and that our unique qualities are what make us strong. Amethyst has also been dealing with accepting herself, and even Peridot said Amethyst is just as strong as a regular warrior gem, so changing size wouldn’t matter that much.

The movie Kiki’s Delivery Service is basically about a witch girl that travels around making friends and helping people, which actually sounds a lot like something Steven would do. I’m guessing it will be similar to Political Power, where Steven joins Kiki as she travels around the town making deliveries.

For Back 2 the Moon, while the episode title is probably a working title, the 2 in it made me think of something. Since in the intro we see the Earth and the Moon from the warp pad, maybe (Spoilers for Gurren Lagann) there is a second hidden fake moon.

The Answer is obviously a very interesting title, but while we all want it to be about answering our questions, I thought of something else. If this is also a Part 2, maybe the previous episode could end with Steven being proposed a very difficult question or choice, maybe a moral one, and The Answer is about his response. Considering the cliffhanger of The Return, I could see this being somewhat similar.

I think that “Too Short to Ride” is a Steven and Peedee fusion episode. New ride opens in town, Steven is banned from the park since “Serious Steven” and Peedee needs to learn to liven up. Peedee gets so used to being cool and fitting in with the older kids and ‘Peeven’ or ‘Stedee’ starts to lose himself in the fusion because Peedee pulls a Lapis and forces the fusion.

Also Mr. Greg I think Greg will get a real job. This leads me into my long-term hopes of Greg meeting a woman and re-marrying by Season 4 like “Rose wouldn’t want you to be lonely forever, would she?” and although I hate myself for wanting Greg to re-marry, I feel it would be so good for his character and good for the show to have that “Percy Jackson”-esque step-parent getting exposed to all this new magical stuff, like how Percy’s mom married again and the step dad was helping in the final battle.

Also for the “Steven vs Amethyst” saga coming up, I’m still banking on the ‘Second Amethyst running around’ theory because otherwise I’m terrified to think that Amethyst will die. Although perhaps all of this will just be Amethyst unlocking her latent ‘Jasper-ness’. Rebecca has a gun pointed at Amethyst and I’m terrified of what’s loaded in that gun. And for all we know, “Kindergarten Kid” could be the Amethyst origin story. Trouble-making Gem loose in the Kindergarten.

Also, I’m willing to bet that this supposed ‘four parter’ will involve White Diamond who I have been referring to as Moonstone on my theory that she was also a rebel with Rose and built the Sea Spire. Also, think about this, the light beam that shoots from the moon…for all we know the whole moon could BE a Warp Pad, which would explain why Garnet or Rose never destroyed it because how do you destroy the whole moon even with Alexandrite or Crystal Quartz / Temple Gem without hurting the Earth’s tides.

ALSO…I’m still clinging to my ‘Homeworld Time’ theory in that a Homeworld year is about a third as long as an Earth year, which would put the rebellion and everything right where it needs to be for the timeline to make the most sense, about six hundred years ago, which makes all of the Crystal Gems’ references to history and knighthood make sense.

I still think that Steven fusion with humans will look like Human X Steven and with Gems will look like Rose X Gem, like normal.

Oh my god Steven fuses with Gem and Connie, unfuses and Connie is still fused with Gem and then she’s just like Steven oh my god.

I think that The Answer will be Yellow Diamond’s answer to Peridot and Rebecca’s use of the silhouette reference will mean that we’ll see Yellow Diamond silhouetted in the transmission.

I saw some speculation that “Beta Part 1”, “Earthlings Part 2”, and “Back 2 the Moon Part 3” could perhaps be the “three long stories” we’ve been promised since “We Need to Talk”. In relation to the last one, a friend of mine noted that in the original intro, just after Garnet’s scene had two shooting stars (foreshadowing her being two gems), Amethyst’s scene had a prominent half-moon. But Pearl’s scene didn’t have any notable artifacts that could be implying something about her.

Anyway, the episode descriptions we get are half the fun. My favorite was “Catch and Release” which simply had the description “A look inside Steven’s bathroom.” So how does it start? Five seconds in Steven’s bathroom, and now you have 10 minutes 55 seconds where you don’t know what’s coming… and then it ends up in Steven’s bathroom again anyway!
