GC13, Soren, and David discuss the announcement of the Lars of the Stars spinoff series for Steven Universe.
For a thing with only two sentences about it, you’d think we wouldn’t be so excited yet. But this is a spinoff we’ve wanted for years, so yeah: this is kind of a big deal.
So while details are light hopes are high: for the first time in years there’s more Steven Universe coming, and Lars is out there exploring and promising some pretty big revelations…

I’m not sure which Adventure Time series you guys are referring to when discussing the content rating. If it’s the original and Distant Lands, then yeah, it was able to keep its TV-PG rating despite the darker tone, violence, blood and suggestive language. There’s only one episode I remember being TV-PG-V, and it was the Princess Cookie episode, which IYKYK. If it’s Fionna and Cake, then that series was TV-14(-V).
I would like if LotS took inspiration from Fionna and Cake and aged up with its audience by being TV-14, giving them more room to tell more mature and intriguing stories and being more explicit about the LGBTQIA themes from the original show without having to worry about censorship.
