Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 4: Maximum Capacity

PodcastTitleIn the fourth episode of the podcast, Ken, GC13, and Hunter go over Maximum Capacity. It looks like Amethyst may have taken a hit to her popularity but is still holding on.

Other questions asked are: Could Greg have done better if he had never met Rose? How long has Steven lived with the Crystal Gems? Is our paragon, Mayor Dewey, ready to become a villain?

Not only did someone actually bring up the “television empathy effect” as I call it, but you used my go-to example of Drake & Josh as well! Nobody ever seems to understand what I’m talking about when I try to explain it, or at least they’ve never really experienced it themselves.

I had the exact same reaction to the Amethyst/Greg scene, it was hard to watch. Still, I actually really appreciate that feeling here because it’s not a joke at someone’s expense that the show is trying to get me to laugh at but a natural reaction to something that, for all intents and purposes, was meant to be uncomfortable. This show continues to take things that rub me the wrong way in television and present them in a new and appealing way.

IKR no one ever understands me when I talk about D&J that way!

Oh my goodness…what if there’s a future episode called “Custody Battle” or something that shows how the Gems came to be in major custody of Steven?

Does Steven even have a birth certificate? Does Greg even have legal custody over him?

Steven “seems” to show some electrical control in this episode. Perhaps this is a hint toward “Political Power” where Mayor Dewey calls upon Steven to help restore power in Beach City after a major blackout?

Seems just obscure enough and just esoteric enough to be a plot point.

Even if Dewey kicks the gems out of Beach City, who’s to say it won’t be just like when they were banned from Fish Stew Pizza. They might just never come to the city, just stay on the temple side of town. I think it might be pretty filler-esque.

Maybe the Gems once banished Uncle Grandpa because he’s annoying. Basically like Bat Mite from Batman or that one reality warping tiny guy who bugs Superman all the time.

He’s some kinda dimensional anomaly who knows the names and problems of all the children in the world. He’s gonna help Steven unlock some sweet Rose powers, so this episode may be canon and important.

It all depends on how they handle it. If they do it right, it could be really good.

Steven Universe movie is most certainly going to involve Bismuth.

Bismuth gets popped, she’s a super powerful Gem/Metal creature.

    Calling it now.

Judging on how Steven appears to be in the Kindergarden in Marble Madness, that Amethyst is covered in Flask Robonoid goo, that there is a giant one walking (probably walking toward the Kindergarden, maybe it’s a robot sent to fix the kindergarden and the gems can’t stop it so they just ride it to see where it’s going), that Steven is witnessing some kind of glow while smiling, and the already-known property of Flask Robonoid goo of fixing gem things, I suspect the following:

The giant Flask Robonoid will either be sent from space, built by the gems, or combined from the smaller ones. It will walk on its own to the Kindergarden and fix something. It will be destroyed or it will attack the gems or accidentally spray them, leaving Amethyst covered. It will fix something and cause a new Gem to be born named Marble.

    Calling it now.
