Rose Quartz, Intergalactic Gem of Mystery. While she’s a legend in the series, and to the Crystal Gems, we don’t know a whole lot about her. She very carefully managed how others thought of her, and she seems to be thought of very differently by each of the five people/Gems who knew who she was …

What Are Gems: an informative short from Cartoon Network
Cartoon Network has put up a short, informative video about the basics of the Gems’ physical natures, by Ms. Florido and voiced by the show’s voice actors.
It doesn’t contain any information that can’t be gleaned from watching the show: Gems are their gems, which project what is effectively a hologram but with mass. If this form is …
What we learned from Keeping It Together
Giant Woman was our first look at fusion. Coach Steven followed not too long after (though the intervening summer hiatus made it feel a lot longer) and gave us another perspective. Fusion Cuisine showed us a particularly dysfunctional fusion after that.
It wasn’t until Alone Together that Steven, and therefore we the audience, got a close-up look at …
What we learned from Rising Tides, Crashing Skies
It was the fun episode, the silly little documentary Ronaldo slapped together (as well as his main portfolio piece for the position of inter-species negotiator). A couple of brief pieces of dialogue, delivered by Pearl, were still enough to give us some interesting facts:
Monsters are drawn to the Crystal Gems The temple, though extra-dimensional, still …
What did we learn from #StevenBomb2.0?
Now that #StevenBomb2.0 has finished we can sit back and take stock of it. While we got a lot of speculation fuel, we also got some hard facts too. Over the next couple of weeks we’ll be discussing the following episodes:
Rising Tides, Crashing Skies
It’s here that it was confirmed that monsters are …
Immediate reaction to Chille Tid
Argh, it’s like twisting a knife in our chest. That’s one heck of a cliffhanger to go back to a hiatus on. Well, at least we have a good idea who’s going to get their plotline resolved during the mid-season finale. 😀
So we learned a very interesting new ability that Gems seem to have (though …
Immediate reaction to We Need to Talk
Every time a Rose Quartz song seemed likely we didn’t get it, yet it sneaks in here. And so well, too! Of course if you’ve seen the episode you know that the song isn’t the biggest bombshell. Who’s ready for an update to the Crystal Gem size chart? 🙂
We learned a lot about Rose …
Immediate reaction to Keeping it Together
FOUL!
Sorry for shouting, but we said we’d do it.
Well… That happened. This makes it much less likely for Peridot to join the team (unfortunately, though there’s still a glimmer of hope). We did get a very handy explanation of how the Kindergarten works though (mostly just things we already figured out for ourselves …
Immediate reaction to Rising Tides, Crashing Skies
Alright, not to spoil anything, but we didn’t get massive “whoa” content on a Tuesday. It’s good episode for a breather though. Great characterization for the Beach City residents though, as well as a fun fact about the monsters.
Definitely not a heavy episode though. Just Ronaldo being weird, which is exactly how he should be.
Immediate reaction to Sworn for the Sword
Whew.
Sorry, we’re fine, we just need a moment. That was definitely a strong start to #StevenBomb2.0, and the new intro is just icing on the cake.
Well if you haven’t seen Sworn to the Sword you’re in for some serious lore treats. Though most of the story is very much focused on the present (even …
