Immediate reaction to Hit the Diamond

In addition to having some seriously adorable moments, and some excellent alternate costumes, this will be remembered an episode that made us reconsider what Gems are like. They can be quite a bit more quirky than we’ve given them credit for.

Sophie though. And Bob. And Earl. It’s magic.

  1. And they’re looking for Jasper and not Peridot? Interesting…but why?

I suppose she has to take responsibility for the failed mission since she’s the highest ranking gem of the group sent out? But wasn’t she just an aide?

    This is weird……

    1. in my view, peridots themselves are less important and probably more expendable than quartz types. maybe jasper has a bigger part on homeworld than we realize…

And that black hole warp drive?

That addresses (well, sorta) the idea of how the gems can travel intergalactic distances in a matter of days/weeks.

      1. I always figured they had a hyper-drive since arriving in the beginning to colonize and to return home. Gems have the power to jump to hyperspace, with no delay; it explains how Peridot, Jasper, and Lapis got to earth so quickly like that. I knew some Star Wars would be here.
