Probably the biggest surprises where the sudden art shift in the show Peridot was watching, and how Garnet suggesting Peridot fuse with her felt a lot like a come-on.
The fact that my dad was watching the episode with me made that scene a LOT more awkward.
The fact that Garnet spent the month-plus at the barn super-chill (from “I chased the cows away” to “Don’t want to”) and starting to get Peridot to relate to her must have made her outburst on the moon all the more terrifying to Peridot.
We got to see, if only for a second or two, the Opal fusion dance successfully completed. It’s not clear if that was before or after Pearl and Amethyst got their groove on at the birthday party.
I’ve got some thoughts to work out about the use of future vision at the end of tonight’s episode. If it’s as powerful as Sapphire’s was presented to be in “The Answer” (yes, the one prediction we heard was only mostly correct, but it was implied she had a perfect record up until then), then it makes it hard to have a conflict that seems genuine or difficult. If Garnet really knew, days ago, that Peridot would wind up giving Steven the tape recorder… what else did she know about what would happen in the days in between that would lead up to that action?
Garnet can only predict things about what she knows. Things that she didn’t know was happening or existed cannot be predicted. She didn’t know Peridot stole the communicator so it wasn’t part of the future she saw.
Yeah, Garnet probably only saw that Peridot would have a freak out for some reason and give Steven her recorder, and considering how erratic Peridot usually is, she probably didn’t think it was for anything out of the ordinary.
Or with Pearl using her to fuse, and not able to see Peridot.
I wonder who Peridot will fuse wih first. To be honest if her and Garnet fuse I hope their hair is in the shape of a star. I really like how this series is building with the short episodes it has, it feels like they are giving us everything they can with the time they have on screen. Now I am really scared when Yellow Diamond shows up one of the gems we care about is going to get shattered. I am excited though, to quote Connie, “GAH!!! This show is so good!”
So, now that the week is done…….when is it coming back? Next month? Soon? I’m not sure.

I saw some screenshot of the credits crediting Shelby and Estelle as the voices of “Jade” and im not sure if its real or not cuz i watched it online, not at home.
Also, our lord and savior Opal has returned! Huzzah!
Though…i want more Sardonyx, or at least confirmation that Pearl and Ruby makes Sard and that Pearl and Sapphire makes Onyx.
