What did we learn from #StevenBomb2.0?

Now that #StevenBomb2.0 has finished we can sit back and take stock of it. While we got a lot of speculation fuel, we also got some hard facts too. Over the next couple of weeks we’ll be discussing the following episodes:

Rising Tides, Crashing Skies
It’s here that it was confirmed that monsters are drawn to the Crystal Gems somehow. The big draw, however, is the tidbit of information about the temple: if the Crystal Gems were to move, they wouldn’t be able to simply move the entrance to the temple with them.

Keeping It Together
The glimpse at the forced fusion plotline was good, but what we can take away for sure is what Garnet told Steven about long-term fusion, and presumably how it differs from what Steven and Connie have experienced as Stevonnie.

We Need To Talk
This was the first big look we got at what Rose Quartz was actually like (though we got a peek in Lion 3: Straight to Video), so that’s definitely cause for discussion.

Ratings for Chille Tid

It looks like #StevenBomb2.0 ended strong: Chille Tid brought in 1,900,000 viewers, beating each episode of the bomb except for Sworn to the Sword.

Aivi and Surasshu post: Full Disclosure

Well this one is going a bit back. After the second #StevenBomb has finished airing, we get something from the first from Aivi and Surasshu. Still, it’s great to have Full Disclosure (1:36) posted.

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 30: #StevenBomb2.0

PodcastTitleStevenBomb2GC13 and Ken discuss #StevenBomb2.0, which just finished, and #StevenBomb3, which was just announced for July 13-17.

The ratings of #StevenBomb2.0, which were much better than the ratings for the first #StevenBomb, are discussed, as is the huge spike in fan activity online. Even though GC13 and Ken would both prefer a return to getting one episode each week, so long as the fans are responding well then there’s nothing to complain about.

Nobody knows what’s going to happen with #StevenBomb3, but whoever Sardonyx turns out to be, she (presumably a she) needs to be a big deal if the character is being teased as soon as the event is announced.

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 29: Chille Tid

PodcastTitleStevenBomb2#StevenBomb2.0 is over, and GC13 and Ken are here to talk about its final episode: Chille Tid.

[Applause]

If you can’t tell, we’re excited that the long-awaited laugh track episode has finally arrived. Of course there’s plenty more to discuss. It seems we finally know that Malachite will be dealt with before Peridot.

Alas, however, poor Lapis. Ken may not feel much sympathy for her, but we can still hope for her to come around to us one day.

#StevenBomb3 to air July 13-17, 2015

stevenbomb3banner

We just can’t get a moment to breathe, can we? Just after #StevenBomb2.0 airs, we get #StevenBomb3 confirmed. And what is this #WeekOfSardonyx? That sounds suspiciously like something we would say if a long-awaited fusion was going to be unveiled. A fusion like Garnet and Pearl, for instance. We can only hope.

Immediate reaction to Chille Tid

Argh, it’s like twisting a knife in our chest. That’s one heck of a cliffhanger to go back to a hiatus on. Well, at least we have a good idea who’s going to get their plotline resolved during the mid-season finale. 😀

So we learned a very interesting new ability that Gems seem to have (though it doesn’t seem to be common), and we’ve learned that when Gems pretend-sleep they get much closer to real sleep than perhaps the name would indicate.

Oh yes, and we are awarded zero points for predicting that the episode, while containing a slumber party, would actually be about something else.

So, that’s #StevenBomb2.0. With no episode premier scheduled for next week, it looks like we’re back to the hiatus. Don’t worry guys, Steven will be back in no time! For now though, it’s chille tid.

Ratings for We Need To Talk

Well it looks like the digital distributors putting the episode up for sale early didn’t do too much damage: We Need To Talk still managed to get 1,732,000 viewers (which means it did quite well at pulling in viewers in its time slot).
