GC13 and Sophia put on their sunscreen and head to a tropical island to discuss Island Adventure (underneath the molten lava moon, of course).
While Steven was being just as funny as always (if not more!), Lars and Sadie really were the stars of this episode. Lars may have been a sourpuss, but being trapped on a potentially dangerous island for days can tend to be quite a stressful experience.
Is it possible that some day Lars and Sadie will be right for each other? Or will that day be as elusive as the explanation for how Steven was able to be away from the temple so long without the Crystal Gems thinking to check the island they had just visited for him?
I don’t understand why Pearl saying that Steven needs to breath is suspicious. Her tone is funny because she’s talking like it’s something that she rarely considers. There’s no reason why him breathing under water would be a reveal, especially since we’ve seen him deal with holding his breath before.
As for Sadie, the issue I have with her is that, while it’s always pointed out when Lars screws up, in this and Sadie’s Song, Sadie’s guilt is glossed over. In this it’s by having her defeat a monster and save them, and in Sadie’s Song we never hear her acknowledge what she did wrong and we have no idea what she says to her mom.
Also, you forgot to include that Steven is technically a teen too, probably about 13 at this point. And Adventure Time has a lot more going for it, especially the Rebecca Sugar years. And this current season has been really good too, probably the most consistently good in years.
It’s likely Garnet told the CG’s not to worry which is why they didn’t check on him. It was a LOVE emergency after all….
What if the Gems couldn’t go get Steven because the Warp Pad was covered up?
For your next podcast that isn’t talking about an episode I would lone go see you guys talk about Steven universe theorys I think it would be cool but that may just be me
