New Steven Universe mini-series from Boom Studios due in February

With the main Steven Universe comic series apparently cancelled after eight monthly issues and a special issue, it’s great to see that there will be more added to the Steven Universe comics than just the graphic novel we’re still looking forward to. According to the story with Entertainment Weekly the mini-series will run for four issues, and one of the writers describes it as “horror for kids”.

Check your local comic store for the first issue in February 2016.

New short: Fusion

This one’s really short, but if you wanted a quick refresher on the idea of fusion, then you’re covered. More importantly, if you need another dose of chibi Gems, then you’ll definitely enjoy Fusion. 🙂

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 54: Lion 2: The Movie

PodcastTitleGC13, Ken, and Hunter discuss Lion 2: The Movie, and give a special shout-out to the track Aivi and Surasshu made for the Google 2015 Halloween doodle game.

So, what is the deal with Lion? Nobody knows. It’s the big mystery of the show, and unlike a lot of stuff doesn’t seem to have any clues that can help us solve it. Not only is it too soon to talk about Ocean Town, but it looks like it’s too soon to learn the secret origin of Lion.

There’s more shouting out going on! Now that asks and fan mail are open on our Tumblr account there is another way for you to get in touch with us! Plus, shout-out to the Crystal Gem Cast and their new home.

Steven Universe air times for November 2-8, 2015

Right now it doesn’t actually look like we’re getting any Steven Universe this week. As is often the case when a big change comes out there’s disagreement among the schedule sites about it, so we all just need to keep our eyes open and hope we get something.

The rest of season one is finally coming to Hulu

For a while now the first thirty-five episodes of Steven Universe were available on Hulu, but nothing else. It was always a weird number to stop at, but now the rest of the season is finally going to make it on to the service! According to TV Guide, starting on November 16 anyone with a subscription to Hulu will be able to watch all season-one episodes of Steven Universe.

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 53: Steven the Sword Fighter

PodcastTitleGC13, Ken, and Sophia deal with the hiatus blues by talking about the sixteenth episode of the series: Steven the Sword Fighter.

It was the episode that introduced the concept of Gems regenerating to us, and since we’ve seen Reformed (forty-one episodes later) we definitely know that we got the wrong idea about how long reformation should normally take a Gem. Talking about it more, there’s really a whole lot we still don’t know.

Heck, we don’t even know whether Lonely Blade is a live action series or if it’s animated.

Plus, Asks are now open on our Tumblr page, so you have another way to get into contact with us!

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 52: Too Far

PodcastTitleKen, GC13, and Hunter see Steven Universe into the year-end break with a discussion of the latest episode: Too Far.

It’s quite interesting to learn more about the homeworld, but it’s also great to learn that once again the fans were right: Amethyst’s body was meant to look a lot like Jasper’s, but she looks the way she does because she’s an overcooked runt. Play your preferred celebratory sound effect now.

Steven, Pearl, and now Amethyst have got their field trip with Peridot, so when will it be Garnet’s turn? Sure, Steven’s the only one who seems to have enjoyed his field trip, but character development is important!

Also note that while we mention that Steven is airing re-runs at 7:30 PM, it was moved to 4:30 PM. It will take a while before guide sites know, so just watch out!
