Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 53: Steven the Sword Fighter

PodcastTitleGC13, Ken, and Sophia deal with the hiatus blues by talking about the sixteenth episode of the series: Steven the Sword Fighter.

It was the episode that introduced the concept of Gems regenerating to us, and since we’ve seen Reformed (forty-one episodes later) we definitely know that we got the wrong idea about how long reformation should normally take a Gem. Talking about it more, there’s really a whole lot we still don’t know.

Heck, we don’t even know whether Lonely Blade is a live action series or if it’s animated.

Plus, Asks are now open on our Tumblr page, so you have another way to get into contact with us!

A small piece of Amethyst’s hair gets cut off in a fight scene (i can’t remember which episode though srry) and she doesn’t go “Ouch” or get poofed lol so I don’t believe they can feel via their clothes.

(Sorry for double comment I hit submit on accident lol)
Cloud getting stabbed with the sword was also a reference btw (to the remake of the FFVII movie) And it was pretty great. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one upset by the tree…

We’ve also seen them have spit and tears.

Watching “Sword Fighter” in advance of this podcast, I was struck by Pearl’s dialogue at the start of the sorta-fatal sword fight. “Do you see what I’m doing with my feet, Steven? Notice where I keep my center of gravity.” We don’t notice either of those things, because Steven doesn’t (if you’re not going to teach him the boomerang blade, he doesn’t really care). Much later, Connie wants to learn genuine sword fighting, so she is paying attention to both of those points: “Keep your stance wide / Keep your body lowered”.

In the 4 episode of zatch bell, a secondary character gives one of the main characters a crying fruit.
Later in the series, there is a three eyed fusion. Think about that the next time you watch cry for help.

    I love original Pearl’s hair: http://funnyjunk.com/channel/stevenuniverse/Steven+universe+comp+22/NyMaLAl

    That hair floop tho~

Also Amethyst’s first form she regenerated into had nothing but short bangs.

Also, I think that if Steven were to “poof” that it would be like normal, but like his Gem withdraws his meat form into it as light (Gem Fusion style) and then Rose comes back until Steven heals in real-time.
