Ken, GC13, and Hunter see the ropes and discuss Tiger Millionaire (the character as well as the episode, though of course it’s the Good-Looking Gang everyone wants to see).
Everyone came back to an old favorite and felt a bit differently about it, but the group is still able to unearth the truth about Lars (wake up, sheeple!) and tell the tragic story of Dashing Dave and Handsome Hank.
We’re happy to cover with our fortieth podcast the episode that introduced the plotline that came to the forefront in episode forty (which, you might remember, we covered in our first podcast), but let us never forget this one truth: anything goes in wrestling.

I makes sense that Pearl’s transgression would cause more drama than Amethyst attacking Garnet when you consider how Gem’s, especially Garnet operate. Gems take tons of punishment on a regular basis, and talk casually about being impaled and “dying”, so what seems like assault to us would be a simple tantrum for a Gem. Pearl lie and violated not only the team’s trust, but violated what is at Garnet’s core as an individual.
I also had a reverse reaction to this episode, but in the opposite way. At first I didn’t like it as much, because it seemed like the typical sitcom plot involving the rebellious side character. Rewatching it later with the context of On The Run made it much more enjoyable and interesting. I was also turned off by Steven’s behavior as Tiger Millionaire, since it seemed weird that he’d enjoy even pretending to be a villain.
