OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes featured five crossovers over its three seasons, and each of them was done differently. A Hero’s Fate concluded the story of showrunner Ian Jones-Quartey’s old webcomic, The Power is Yours brought is Captain Planet, Crossover Nexus unified four current Cartoon Network shows, Monster Party wrote Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School into Enid’s backstory, and Let’s Meet Sonic… Well, we met Sonic.
It took three things for OK KO to make these crossovers well: a wild world where anyone can exist, no place on the power scale for guest characters, and a whole heaping nostalgia for the old shows being crossed over with. With those ingredients, OK KO made four excellent nostalgia trips and a great crossover for Cartoon Network’s current franchises.
Ken returns for the end of the Universe, and he, GC13, Isabelle, and David discuss the two latest episodes of Steven Universe: Future: Together Forever and Growing Pains.
Well, if In Dreams and Bismuth Casual were the hope spots, there was definitely more heartache put into these two episodes. Steven is clearly feeling isolated and is making bad decisions, even when he seeks the counsel of those who should know better. At least now Steven has the most information he’s had yet about what’s going on with him.
Steven Universe: Future’s end continued last Friday. Together Forever captured the hearts of 572,000 viewers and Growing Pains gave 547,000 viewers hope for our boy Steven.

Sublime art theory informs Rebecca Sugar’s shows in obvious and subtle ways. Their careful decisions in the art direction, narrative, and expressions of their characters come together to form a sublime artwork. Looking into how Rebecca Sugar specifically employs sublime framing in Steven Universe, one comes to understand why their stories feel so personal and so engrossing.
GC13, Isabelle, Sophia, and David discuss the beginning of the end of Steven Universe: Future: In Dreams and Bismuth Casual.
This is it: the happiest Steven is likely to be before the finale. Savor it. Savor the Camp Pining Hearts reboot, the skating rink, and Cam’s Camshafts.
Dreams continue to be weird in Steven Universe, even in the future. What symbolism do you think was intended by the Connified version of Obsidian?
