GC13, Sophia, and Hunter discuss Buddy’s Book (the first weekly episode we’ve had in a long time that wasn’t part of some special event).
So, this episode had drama; it had adventure; it had lions! (And shushing!) We can’t know what the story behind the lions is yet, but it’s a pretty sure bet that we’ll learn at some point.
Also, there is another mystery: where exactly is the Buddwick Public Library? It’s not in the main area of Beach City we’ve seen in the show, but it must be part of Beach City. Perhaps it’s near the movie theater…
Now if only we could get some fanart of some jubilant Rubies carrying Jasper around and singing about how great she is…

What could Buddy’s Book mean?
Why do there have to be episodes with so many questions and so few answers? Yes, they’re fun to wonder about, but… Alright, they’re very fun to wonder about actually. Buddy’s Book is definitely high up on the list of unanswered questions though. Still, read on, and we’ll ask those questions, and try to answer what we can.
What we learned from Buddy’s Book
Well now that the barrage of constant episodes is over and we can finally collect ourselves, it’s time to settle in and talk about the first weekly episode after the Summer Adventure: Buddy’s Book.
It had some tantalizing stuff in it (a lot of speculation fodder), but first let’s go over the concrete stuff we learned from Buddy’s recordings. Please do read on!
Immediate reaction to Buddy’s Book
Our first episode back on the weekly schedule sure gave us a lot to wonder about. We also got to see a great map of Gem sites that will have to be compared against the map in It Could’ve Been Great. Finally, we got a couple locations nailed down for sure, so that’s always a plus!
All in all, while Buddy saw a lot of fantastic stuff most of it wasn’t new to us. The stuff that’s new to us is… Well again, we’ll talk about it, won’t we? 🙂
New episode: Mindful Education to air on August 25, 2016
We’re still on weekly episodes for a little while. Next week we’ll get a new episode called Mindful Education airing on Thursday, August 25, at 7:00 PM EDT. Don’t forget to watch it!
New Funko figures coming on October: Pint Size Heroes
Funko is starting a new line of vinyl figures, Pint Size Heroes, and Steven Universe will be one of the properties getting a box of figures in the first wave. They appear to be similar to the mystery minis in size (they are 1.5″ tall), and like the mystery minis you won’t know what figure is in the package you are buying.
There’s no word on price yet, but Hot Topic and Gamestop will both have exclusive figures. Most notably, it appears that Hot Topic is the place to go if you want a Holo-Pearl figure and Gamestop seems to have the full collection of water clones, though we can’t be sure.
The official announcement is here if you’re curious about what else the new product line is launching with.
