What to expect from The Test

We’ve been looking forward to this. The preview has already made it clear that the test at the Lunar Sea Spire was just opportunistic, so the site’s namesake is still legitimate (though still unfortunately collapsed and underwater).

This episode could go a lot of ways. Really it’s a fantastic chance to highlight how Steven has grown as a hero since the early days of the series: not just the massive suite of powers he’s acquired, but how much better at making decisions he is (it’s hard to imagine New Steven tuning his ukulele while immediately under threat now).

Also, maybe a little bit of an Indiana Jones-style boulder run just for good measure? Please don’t let that one be Steven’s imagination.

New episode: Future Vision will air on January 29, 2015

This one should be good. Maybe if we’re really good the lore fairy will teach us a little bit about Garnet. At the very least we should finally get a taste for how powerful she actually is (which we’re guessing the answer is “really”). Be sure to check it out on Thursday, January 29 at 6:30 PM EST.

Future Vision
Steven learns that Garnet can see into the future and becomes curious about the possible dangers that lurk around him.

Aivi and Surasshu post: Twilight Run

Another track from Alone Together has just gone up. Twilight Run (0:40) is now ready to be listened to on Aivi and Surasshu’s Soundcloud page.

Steven Universe cut down to half an hour a week

okayTerrible news, everyone: Cartoon Network’s reschedule is indeed real. The schedule published for this week has been replaced with one that only features The Test and a repeat of Alone Together, and it looks like next week will likewise feature just Future Vision and a re-airing of The Test.

Things might pick up after that, however: Monday, February 2 is showing Steven back in the 6:30 PM time slot with a repeat of Future Vision and Laser Light Cannon, so hopefully this is just a two-week blip.

We can get through this: everything is going to be okay.

Song of the week: Be Wherever You Are

We think that Alone Together calls for just one song of the week: Be Wherever You Are. Without further ado:

Aivi and Surasshu post: Alone Together

Have we mentioned that we really enjoy how quickly these latest releases from Aivi and Surasshu are hitting us? Let’s cross our fingers and hope that we get the song from the opening sequence of the episode next, but Alone Together (0:52) is a very beautiful track.

What could Alone Together mean about fusions?

We’ve already taken a look at the most likely things we learned about gem fusion from Alone Together, so let’s get into more speculative territory.

The music just keeps coming from Aivi and Surasshu. Today we get Be Cool at the Club (3:47) from Alone Together. We can totally rave to this.
