Looking back at Beach City Drift

Is it wrong to be excited to see Kevin in ordinary lighting? He may be a creep, but only knowing what he looked like under the rave’s crazy lighting just felt wrong. Now we know, and knowing is half the street race.

Speaking of knowing helping you win a street race, who cares to guess how Stevonnie mastered some serious drifting despite never having driven a car before? We go from Steven “practicing” driving by imagining his own movie trailer to Stevonnie nearly winning a race despite never having driven before. We’re going to go with “a fusion is more than the sum of its parts” to soothe our minds for now, but the question shall remain.

Real talk though, Dire Dire Drift (2:27) is an amazing song. We’re accustomed to Steven Universe having a great soundtrack, but the race’s theme is just on a whole other level.

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 117: The New Lars

GC13 and Hunter talk a lot about Lars and The New Lars, and even learn some fun facts about koalas at the start of the episode!

So, whether you love or hate Lars you have to admit that this episode took him to a dark place. GC13 and Hunter aren’t the kind of people to think that Lars is being treated unfairly, or that Steven is being portrayed as doing nothing wrong, but… Seriously, poor Lars. Hopefully he’s grown as a result of all of this.

There is also a question of shipping: if Sadie and Lars aren’t destined for one another, then who is worthy of good Lady Sadie? Even more importantly, where is Opal?

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 116: Three Gems and a Baby

PodcastTitleGC13, Sophia, and Hunter have the goods with a discussion of Three Gems and a Baby.

Well if baby Steven isn’t just the cutest baby we’ve ever seen… Greg also helps him get a diamond onto his chest, not long after we get confirmation on the cool kids’ ages.

So what do you think? Does a Gem’s gem shrink and grow as they shapeshift or fuse, or does it actually stay the same size and it’s only drawn as bigger or smaller for aesthetic appeal?

Carabiner! Carabiner!

What could Three Gems and a Baby mean?

It’s an episode about the past, so of course we’ll be talking about future vision (that big question that we’ll probably never be able to answer). Also, we yet again get a question about what might happen to Steven.

This is, of course, speculation, so we have no answers for you. There are also some questions which are best left unanswered.

What we learned from Three Gems and a Baby

Well first off, we learned that Greg wasn’t kidding in Steven’s Birthday when he said that the Crystal Gems didn’t know much about babies. Other than that, this episode had a bit of information for us without dropping any huge bombshells. Let’s see what’s inside.

Immediate reaction to Three Gems and a Baby

This episode was a bonanza for the timeline, giving us a pretty tight age range for a lot of characters (mostly confirming old guesses). We also got another good look at the Crystal Gems’ reactions to the loss of Rose, though there’s not as much new information in that.

We also award ourselves no points for predicting the sad Pearl.
