GC13, Sophia, and Hunter come back strong with an episode about the eight issues of the Steven Universe comic series, plus the Greg Universe special.
While the comic series is definitely different than the show, the comics are fun to read. Plus, they are canon until the show contradicts them, which has so far only happened with regard to the existence of Halloween—and even that was only contradicted on Twitter by Mr. Burnett.
The short comics included in each issue are also fantastic, with far too many to be able to shout of all of the beloved ones (still, no one ever said “no” to some extra Opal, least of all Steven).
All in all, color us happy to be getting a graphic novel and a new mini-series soon!

Hey guys, Awesome show as always! On the subject about if a Ruby and a Sapphire will make a Garnett or another Gem. I dont know if you have seen it, but Matt Burnett tweeted about how “any combination of an Amethyst, Garnett, And Pearl will always make Alexandrite”. The wording sounds like any combination of any gem will always make the same Gem.
That was also confirmed in the Guide. Also, Garnet is spelled like this.
I’m surprised Pearl can’t bubble that one Gem cuz it’s about the same size as the Wailing Stone.
I theorize that Gems can naturally produce bubbles to capture other gems. Peridot automatically assumes that the mass quantity of bubbles is a sign of something called “Harvesting” so perhaps Gems can bubble as some sort of hunting technique that was probably more heavily used by ancient Gems.
Seeing as Steven got his life-changing field trip with Peridot in When it Rains,
Pearl got her life-changing field trip with Peridot during Back to the Barn,
and Amethyst got her life-changing field trip with Peridot during Too Far…
I think it’s safe to say that the next episode will be Garnet and Peridot’s life changing field trip.
I think that Barn Mates will be Steven forcing Garnet and Peridot to spend time together
at the barn until they get along.
The spider Amethyst was a reference to Donkey Kong Country 2.
As for Garnet episodes, I don’t see how Keystone Motel isn’t a Garnet episode. Ruby and Sapphire are Garnet.
As for duplicate gems fusing into the same fusion, it seems that the physical gem of the fusion shares properties of both components. So while another Amethyst and Pearl would most likely still make an Opal, their appearances and personalities would be completely different.
I think Matt Burnett was lying about holidays to get people off his back.
I actually really liked last weeks episode.I thought parts of it were really funny. While I do not think that it belongs on a Steven universe podcast, maybe you guys could make another podcast where you do stuff like that?or maybe you could post an episode that was like that every once in a while?it’s completely OK if you decide not to do that, I really liked the roses room episode or, as hunter put it, the lunar sea spire garbage podcast.
