Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 549: The Lars of the Stars announcement

GC13, Soren, and David discuss the announcement of the Lars of the Stars spinoff series for Steven Universe.

For a thing with only two sentences about it, you’d think we wouldn’t be so excited yet. But this is a spinoff we’ve wanted for years, so yeah: this is kind of a big deal.

So while details are light hopes are high: for the first time in years there’s more Steven Universe coming, and Lars is out there exploring and promising some pretty big revelations…

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 548: Handy Anne and Fort in the Road (from Amphibia)

GC13 and David discuss Handy Anne and Fort in the Road from Amphibia.

A season of episodes is done and a season has passed in Wartwood, which means the mountain pass is clear and the Plantar family can go out on an adventure! Just make sure to follow Hop Pop’s road rules (unless you’re looking to suffer an unnatural death, or buy middling-quality ice cream).

A very conspicuous bit of foreshadowing at the end of the second episode. A new season means new things to reveal. Maybe we will know some day!

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 547: Reunion (from Amphibia)

GC13 and David discuss the first season finale from Amphibia, Reunion.

Sasha, you may be evil but there is still good in you, we feel it. I’m sure we’ll get to see it some day. Today though you were pretty awful. Thankfully Wally was there to save the way!

We even made it through the season finale with no deaths! Well, except for one hideous plant monster, but it was probably pretty hungry so it’s probably safer this way. The toads are routed, for now.

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 546: Children of the Spore and Anne of the Year (from Amphibia)

GC13 and David discuss Children of the Spore and Anne of the Year from Amphibia.

It’s official, Anne is definitely accepted as a citizen of Wartwood (even if she, Polly, and Sprig are awful kids to have around). She may not have had anything to do with saving the town (and Amphibia) from Apothecary Gary, but at least she’s most improved!

Aren’t you just delighted that we had another pair of episodes with a happy ending that can in no way lead to bad things happening? We sure are.

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 545: The Big Bugball Game and Combat Camp (from Amphibia)

GC13 and David discuss The Big Bugball Game and Combat Camp from Amphibia.

Ah, finally the Lunar Sea Spire has returned to Frog Show! Even though we know Amphibia is a wonderful place where nothing bad ever happens, it felt good to return to a couple of lighthearted adventures.

Still, it’s nice to see Anne learning to trust others and how to fight. Those skills might come in handy, even if she’s not likely to end up on the Infinity Train any time soon.

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 544: The Missing Piece (from Invincible Fight Girl)

GC13 and David discuss the tenth episode of Invincible Fight Girl, The Missing Piece.

Well, here’s that four on one we were promised. Andy is able to find her missing piece though, dig deep, and send the Perm Gang blasting off for the first time.

Hopefully we get to see a second season. We may not ever see the Perm Gang blast off again, but there are so many questions we want answered that a second season might not be enough for us…

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 543: Formation! The Perm Gang Strikes Back (from Invincible Fight Girl)

GC13 and David discuss the ninth episode of Invincible Fight Girl, Formation! The Perm Gang Strikes Back.

Now that the Perm Gang has appeared Andy can have herself a real match. Unfortunately for her they have a very sad backstory, and Immaculate isn’t a challenge for her after the training she’s done.

Well, if one member of the Perm Gang isn’t strong enough to challenge Andy, there do happen to be three more. What if…?

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 542: The Rusty Rumble (from Invincible Fight Girl)

GC13 and David discuss The Rusty Rumble from Invincible Fight Girl.

So we’ve begun a three-parter to finish off the season, and that means that stuff is about to go down. It starts off nice and calm, but nice and calm does include finally meeting Keith David the Scouter, the narrator. Dude is pure sinister…

And of course as the first episode of a three-parter that means we need to set up higher drama. Welcome back to the show Perm Gang, we sure hope you don’t make us cry.

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 541: Bertie Unbound (from Invincible Fight Girl)

GC13 and David discuss the seventh episode of Invincible Fight Girl, Bertie Unbound.

Put a fork in Rumbleweed, it’s done. Bertie, you may blame Andy for this right now, but we hope that with time to reflect you will not declare Andy to be to blame and name yourself her rival.

Ruff and Tumble, definitely bad parents—and now bad fighters too. Keep moving Andy, there’s no one here to help you learn the Perfect Strike.

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 540: Behind the Wall: The Finger and the Toe (from Invincible Fight Girl)

GC13 and David discuss Behind the Wall: The Finger and the Toe from Invincible Fight Girl.

We never thought we’d hear ourselves say this, but why didn’t Andy listen to Craig? Sure, helping people is nice, but as Andy finds out there are some people out there who are beyond help.

Still, at least we learned that you wrestle with your whole body. Wise words from our wrestling philosopher Andy.
