Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 155: That Will Be All

GC13 and David wrap up the Out of This World discussion by talking about That Will Be All.

When Ms. Sugar joins the storyboard team you know it’s going to be good, and That Will Be All didn’t disappoint at all. Though we unfortunately only just got to meet the Famethyst, at least we know Amethyst had some time to bond with her sisters in the background.

Poor (due to her plight yes, but maybe her abilities as well?) Holly Blue is left running a space station that is mysteriously placed. Where is it and why is it there? How was it accessed before the creation of the gravity engine? Will we ever know?

Still no re-runs scheduled. 🙁

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 154: The Zoo

GC13 and David talk about the reunion of Ste-Van and Ga-Reg: The Zoo.

The zoomans live in an idyllic little paradise (at the very least we don’t see much of it). They even seen to enjoy the choosening, so aren’t fazed by the one downside to their utopia (well, two if you count the lack of fry bits).

Even after Heartbreaker Greg dropped the big bomb on them (in just about the least-gentle way he possibly could), they’ll probably bounce back with the help of the Famethyst—the shipping must flow.

Will we see them again? It’s hard to imagine so many unique character designs being thrown out, but what will become of the zoomans?

Steven Universe air times for August 28 – September 3, 2017

No re-runs are scheduled this week either.

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 153: Gem Heist

GC13, Isabelle, and David talk about the middle episode of the bomb: Gem Heist.

It’s another episode (kind of) involving future vision, so even if the line isn’t in the podcast we’ll go ahead and add it: why did they tell us about future vision? What did Sapphire see when she said their plan wouldn’t work? Did they change the future?

Anyway, Ruby was her adorbable self in this episode, though the cartoon conceit of characters not noticing anything they aren’t on screen for was stretched to its limits (and maybe beyond). Still, Ruby tuckered out after pounding on the door for a few seconds? Too cute.

There’s more Gem writing in this episode. Maybe some day we’ll be able to read it. One can hope…

Steven Universe air times for August 21-27, 2017

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 152: Adventures in Light Distortion

GC13, Sophia, and David discuss Adventures in Light Distortion.

It’s the melodramatic second episode, so there’s a bit of criticism. It could have been better (or at least more appealing to the podcasters) if it had focused less on Steven worrying about people we knew to be fine, and maybe if Steven had used his powers to stop the ship.

Of course space is big, so we have to bring that up. With the Milky Way galaxy being so large, taking only seventy years to reach the zoo (at sublight speeds) means it’s just a stone’s throw (metaphorically speaking) from Earth.

Also, if you met him online recently, GC13 says hi.

Steven Universe air times for August 14-20, 2017

No re-runs are scheduled for this week.

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 151: Steven’s Dream

GC13 and David discuss Steven’s Dream, the start of Out of This World and our first present-day look at Blue Diamond.

Check out Greg’s new watch! We know he didn’t lose it when he was alien-abducted, since he wasn’t wearing it in Korea (or in the van for that matter), so where did it go? Mr. Greg has a lot of important things to spend money on, so hopefully he doesn’t need a new watch already.

Plus, this episode is your random reminder that we still haven’t had the mural from Serious Steven explained yet. Maybe a character will explain it for us, but can life be so perfect?

Steven Universe air times for August 7-13, 2017

No re-runs are scheduled for this week.
