We’re trying something new: keeping everyone updated on which Steven Universe episodes are currently unlocked on the Cartoon Network app (available on mobile on iPhone and Android, and your TV on Roku) and on their website.

So here’s what will be available for about a week, though do note that this weekend everything on the app will be unlocked, so for a few days you’ll be able to see more episodes than this.

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 168: Lion

GC13 wonders about the mystery of Lion, and the lions described by Buddy Buddwick in his journal.

We don’t even know whether Rose’s secret pride of lions was normal or if they were pink and Buddy somehow managed to not relate this fact (though it would make sense that they were normal and Rose chose Lion from this or a later batch).

What questions do you have about Lion? What answers do you have? We may be getting some answers on the show soon, but until then we’ll have to wonder together, so we’d better get down to it.

Steven Universe air times for December 4-10, 2017

Still no episodes this week. 🙁

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 167: Issues 1-4 of the comic series (“Warp Tour”)

GC13 and David discuss the first four issues of the new comic series, which for some reason have been dubbed “Warp Tour” when compiled together.

It’s a great start to the comic series, with great humor, characters we don’t often get to see, and an art style far more faithful to the show. It’s also chock full with background goodies, like any good comic series.

If you’re not following the series we heartily recommend it, whether you read it in print or digitally. And apparently issues #5-8 not be called “Marble Madness” when collected together. Oh well.

Steven Universe air times for November 27 – December 3, 2017

Still no re-runs scheduled. 🙁

Season four to reach Hulu on December 11

According to Entertainment Weekly, season four of Steven Universe will reach Hulu on December 11.

This will bring the series up to I Am My Mom, meaning that anyone watching their Steven Universe re-runs on Hulu won’t be missing very many episodes.

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 166: The season-one DVD announcement

GC13 discusses the announcement of the season-one DVD set for the USA, due out on January 30, 2018.

At $25 and with the special features you’d expect (commentaries especially), it looks like it will be a great boxed set to buy. It’s even only a couple years late!

Still, one thing needs to be said: what is up with the episodes in the set? The first two episodes of season two, Full Disclosure and Joy Ride are included in this set while two season-one episodes, Shirt Club and Story for Steven are being left off. Why this is we just don’t know.

All in all though? It’s great to finally have a boxed set coming out.

Steven Universe air times for November 20-26, 2017

No episodes are set to air this week.

Season one DVD set to be released January 30, 2018

Overly Animated has come out with the good news: on January 30 season one of Steven Universe will see a DVD release in the United States with an MSRP of $25.

Oddly enough the episode order has been partially but not completely corrected; Open Book will be in with season one as originally intended, but Full Disclosure and Joy Ride have been moved to join season one while Shirt Club and Story for Steven will be in season two. Say Uncle is also being kept in season two.

The DVD release will also come with goodies: animatics and commentary tracks being especially welcome, but there’s more than just that.

Currently only a DVD release has been announced, but we can cross our fingers and hope for Blu-ray to eventually follow.
