The two-million club is pretty great, and Steven Universe made it in again this week with On the Run: 2,084,000 people tuned in to see it.
Immediate reaction to On the Run
This one got some huge lore and characterization for us. This is definitely another Big Deal episode, and while we’ve been getting and will continue to get a lot of those, we think this one deserves special note for finally answering at least one huge question that had been hanging over the entire series.
Plus we get a brand new location. The locations page hasn’t been carefully maintained lately, but it’s definitely getting an update after On the Run.
What to expect from On the Run
This one has a lot of promise. If you’ve seen the preview aired at MAGFest then you know the song is really good (as expected), and Steven and Amethyst head out for parts unknown. It would be best if the episode showed a bit of human society outside of Beach City, but all we know is that they ride the train somewhere. Will they be able to reach a town before the inevitable magical twist happens?
There’s a lot of stuff to hope for on this one. Will Amethyst spill some information about her past? Maybe we’ve been all wrong and she didn’t know the others until Rose was already around. Any backstory at all will be welcome, be it about the world, individual Crystal Gems, or anything in between.
Interestingly enough a clip in a commercial shows that the Crystal Gems have collected the defunct flask robonoids that Peridot left behind in Warp Tour. It doesn’t look like they dwell on it much, but they might slip a fact to us.
New episode: Beach City Horror Club will air on February 12, 2015
It looks like Ronaldo still hasn’t given up on the lighthouse as his secret base. Who knows what kind of magical twist can come out of this episode? We’ll definitely be watching at 6:30 PM EST on February 12, 2015.
Beach City Horror Club
Steven goes to the lighthouse to watch scary movies with Ronaldo, Lars, and Sadie.
Song of the week: Paronaldo Activity
So now it’s official: Garnet has Weird powers! And that’s not all: Ronaldo’s fridge fell on him! What are the odds? This can’t be a coincidence… Something strange is going on around here. Beach City was definitely weird this week, which means it’s only natural that Paronaldo Activity is the song of the week.

What could Future Vision mean?
Alright, we’ve taken care of the more traditional lore implications. Now it’s time to get weird: what might Future Vision have to say about the future of the series?
Decoding Garnet’s future vision
Tomorrow we have… Well, a bit of speculating to do. Today is about the hard stuff, though: what we know. We don’t think it’s a spoiler to say that Future Vision answered some questions about Garnet’s precognitive powers, so it’s time to take those answers and examine the implications more closely.
Immediate reaction to Future Vision
Future Vision certainly didn’t disappoint when it comes to how Garnet’s perception of the future works. We should certainly be able to tease out a fair bit about it. Look forward to it on Saturday! Then the Speculating can start on Sunday. 🙂
