Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 424: Thanks to Them (from The Owl House)

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Thanks to Them, from The Owl House.

This is how the end begins: with Luz and Hunter going through some stuff, and Belos continuing to focus entirely on the murderous task he assigned to himself those centuries ago.

We learned a lot about Caleb and Philip, about the town of Gravesfield, and maybe even a bit about the Clawthorne family as well… But now it’s time to return to the Boiling Isles. There are friends to save, and a story to end.

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 423: Hunting Palismen (from The Owl House)

GC13 and Soren discuss Hunting Palismen from The Owl House.

And no, we Thanks to Them hadn’t aired when we recorded this. But yes, we have watched the episode now.

On its own merits though, Hunting Palismen is a great episode. It’s a proper introduction to Hunter, we get to see a scheme from Kikimora, a wonderful usage of wild magic, and a crazy dragon you’d only find on the Boiling Isles. The only thing the episode is missing is a pet shop with a password.

Wait…

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 422: Through the Looking Glass Ruins (from The Owl House)

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Through the Looking Glass Ruins from The Owl House.

It’s a Gus-focus episode, but Luz and Amity still find a way to steal the show with their trek through the Forbidden Stacks. Their unnecessary trip; communication is key to any relationship, including your relationship with your boss.

But when Gus turns on the illusions, he’s playing for keeps. Willow isn’t the only prodigy of a witch Luz hangs around with.

King and the Collector: The Owl House’s Season 3 Odd Couple

Season 3 of The Owl House is almost here, and while we’re going to start off seeing how Luz and company make it back to the Boiling Isles, we’re certain to spend plenty of time back there with King and the Collector. The Collector has what it takes to be the most feared tyrant The Owl House has ever seen – sorry not sorry Phillip – but I don’t think season 3 is going to stay grim forever.

And for season 3 to start being happy, I think King will start to teach the Collector empathy. The Owl House deserves a happy ending, and so do we.

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 421: Keeping Up A-Fearances (from The Owl House)

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Keeping Up A-Fearances from The Owl House.

So, yeah, there’s no nice way to say this: Eda’s mother has been taken in by a con artist. At least they get what’s coming to them in the end.

But despite all that ugliness, this episode also does a lot to move the story along: Gwen tells Luz about Phillip Wittebane, and we find out that not only has Camila been receiving letters from camp, she’s brought home another Luz! Oh my, what will they think of next?

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 420: Young Blood, Old Souls (from The Owl House)

GC13, Soren, and David discuss Young Blood, Old Souls from The Owl House.

It took a long time to get here, but we finally made it: the finale of the first season. And while everything is appropriately epic, the second season has just left it in the dust. The revelations of the first season are just outclassed by the revelation of the second season.

Still, it’s great to look back and see the groundwork being done. For us to know Belos’s plan, we needed to meet him first. And that we did. That we did…

Three Things I Expect From Season Three of The Owl House

Season three of The Owl House is just three weeks away, and will consist of three double-length episodes. You know that means it’s time for a list video! Three things I expect from season three of The Owl House.

It’s going to be a tough three weeks, but I think we’ll be able to make it. Then we’re going to see what Dana was able to do to end The Owl House with such a short third season.

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 419: Echoes of the Past (from The Owl House)

GC13 and Soren discuss Echoes of the Past from The Owl House.

We have a whole lot more context for this than we did right after the episode aired and so much of it is still a mystery. We think we know what the intention was, but we only think…

At least King is doing alright now. Even if neither of us believe that his horn piece should fit so well.

And yes, next week we will be discussing the finale of season one.

Fusion Memories: How Steven Universe’s Rose Quartz Could Keep a Secret

It’s a common question you’ll hear when Steven Universe is discussed: how were Rose and Pearl able to keep Rose’s secret identity a secret if the Crystal Gems were always fusing with each other? Steven Universe showed us that fusions know what their components know after all, and Steven Universe also showed us that their components know what their fusions know.

Except, that’s not entirely true. Steven Universe isn’t going to make a simple mistake like that with something as crucial as fusion, and if you pay attention you’ll see that it’s always been quite clear about how fusions’ memories work.

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 418: Cursed! and Fiddle Me This (from Amphibia)

GC13 and David discuss Cursed! and Fiddle Me This from Amphibia.

Finally, Maddie gets her time to shine. She may be well-versed in the dark arts, but she’s a good witch at heart (Azura crossover when?), and would never curse someone just for breaking up with her by text.

And Sprig is good with the fiddle. Like, really good. With a competition the next weekend, a mere nine days of training is all it takes for him to put on a flawless performance. Except for being eaten by a bat.
