GC13 discusses Cartoon Network’s newfound predilection for spoiling aspects of the upcoming story arc in the advertisements for it.
The earlier bombs may not have been spoiled much by their ads, but starting with Steven Bomb 4 we’ve been getting many more spoilers in purposeful advertisements.
Of course not all advertising spoilers have been intentional, with Lapis’s reappearance (and Peridot being with her) was spoiled before Steven Bomb 4 (with its big focus on whether Peridot would stay with the group or not) had even finished airing.
The commercial for the latest bomb isn’t discussed until 10:38, so if you’re avoiding all spoilers for it (even very intentional ones), you’re safe until then.

Preview for Adventures in Light Distortion
Cartoon Network has put up a clip from Adventures in Light Distortion, presumably as a preview. If you want to whet your appetite for Monday it’s not too spoiler-heavy (well, except for the title!), but you have been warned! Continue Reading to see the preview… If you dare!
Looking back at Monster Reunion
Oh poor Centipeetle… At least there was a happy ending!
After all of this time we still don’t know what Centipeetle’s actual name is. (Pearl mentions Nephrite in Bismuth, and that’s a green stone, so there are good odds she’s a Nephrite, but it’s still possible she’s something else.) She has the hair of a quartz, but not the shiny gem of a quartz. Curious…
As nicely illustrated as Centi’s history lesson was (as far as flashbacks go, it was a great choice of art style for such a broad overview), we didn’t learn all that much we didn’t already know. Having her perspective of it was neat though, and we did learn that the Homeworld Gems didn’t know why they were evacuating the planet in such a hurry.
Of course earlier in the episode Pearl had already confirmed what Same Old World had showed us: that the Diamonds were responsible for unleashing the corruption onto Earth. As we’ll surely discuss when we get to Earthlings, it’s quite interesting that Jasper seems unaware of the origins of corruption…

They’ll be airing each night at 7:00 PM EST, so you can plan accordingly. 🙂

Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 123: Kiki’s Pizza Delivery Service
Podcast: Play in new window | Download (Duration: 17:39 — 12.1MB)

GC13 and Sophia discuss the best episode of Steven Universe named after a Studio Ghibli film: Kiki’s Pizza Delivery Service.
How many pizzas can you carry with one arm? Can you beat Kiki’s displayed strength, all while running fast enough to deliver warm pizzas to the hungry citizens of Beach City? (If so, Mayor Dewey is probably hiring interns.) Jenny may have broken the delivery car, but apparently Kiki doesn’t need it.
Stand up for yourself: it’s not being mean to not let others take advantage of you. Being nice and helpful is one thing, but you won’t always have Steven around to help you fight your inner cheese demons.

Looking back at Kiki’s Pizza Delivery Service
Two forks, it’s fancy.
We go right from pizza bagels to delivering mountains of full-sized pizzas (Kiki may be a runner, but her arms are apparently in great shape too if she’s carrying all of those pizzas around town!). What a time to be alive!
Don’t let anyone say that Steven doesn’t value others’ privacy: he was pretty clearly distraught and apologetic when he found out that he had been in Kiki’s dream, showing that he still remembers what he learned back in The New Lars. (Not that Kiki’s holding it against him mind you, since having a dream warrior for a friend can be pretty handy whether or not you’re being stalked by a magical serial killer.)
It’s nice to see a show being up front with its moral (you have to make time for yourself too) without being too preachy about it (a problem lots of older programs had). It’s also nice to see the show referencing more anime (Evangelion gets the honor again this time).
Well, that’s it for today: there’s an awesome cheese rave at the pizza cave we need to get to. 🙂
