Lunar Sea Spire podcast episode 165: The November 10 episodes (Steven Torpedo 1?)

GC13, Isabelle, Sophia, and David talk about the latest batch of episodes.

It’s a nice little story arc, if one that has plenty of sad moments in it. It even has valuable life lessons for kids, even if the lessons do come out to the fore of the episodes sometimes rather than running deeper.

Still, with so much changing in Beach City in just six episodes, it makes you wonder where the show will go from here.

Also, they’re six episodes at once, but they didn’t air on TV. Does that make this a Steven Torpedo?

Nice discussion, Lunar Sea Spire crew! Below, are some reactions and repsonses:

Dewey Wins – This was alright. The way I see it, I think Mr. Dewey’s “win” was coming to terms with the fact that he isn’t a good mayor (it’ll take a lot of stress of him anyway). Also, the questions on the management of the Big Donut just makes me wonder why there no cable news networks interviewing people. Like, someone was abducted by aliens. If Beach City is freaking out, what’s everyone else doing? I guess that’s one of the results of showing everything from Steven’s perspective. :/

Raising the Barn – This one was okay. I agree with everything David said regarding Lapis. Though, I feel she is too inconsistent to point where I don’t care what plot threads she holds. Maybe it ‘s the fact we haven’t spent much time with her? I don’t know. Anyway, currently predicting she gets kidnapped again.

Gemcation – I strangely related to this one a lot. I think it has to do with how Peridot’s cynical breakdown mirrors my reflection of what’s currently going on in the world.

Sadie Killer – My absolute favorite of the 6 episodes. Sadie was always a favorite character of mine, and her progression into the bank made me love her even more. Jenny definitely enjoying the performance. I can’t wait to see them on tour XD.

Kevin Party – This was a nice closer. It looks like I’m agreeing with David again regarding the lesson Steven should have learned. Just because every Homeworld gem thinks he’s his mother, it doesn’t mean he has to go along with it. I just hope we can move past.

Well, this was a nice collection of episodes. But, man…when all of you started talking about how the show is going to end, I got worried. All the plot threads you mentioned reminded me how cluttered and misguided Adventure Time got. Though, Steven Universe is able to do certain things better than that AT, I still worry.

Anyway, see you next week! 😀

P.S. Those people at Kevin’s Party are self-inserts of the Crewniverse.

Oh yeah, this makes me wonder where the show will go from here. IN FACT, I’ve been wondering 3 seasons already.

Round and round the Universe goes, where he ends up nobody knows!
