So, what is the deal with Lion? Nobody knows. It’s the big mystery of the show, and unlike a lot of stuff doesn’t seem to have any clues that can help us solve it. Not only is it too soon to talk about Ocean Town, but it looks like it’s too soon to learn the secret origin of Lion.

    Since Garnet’s already pulled off a Gurren Lagann reference, I wouldn’t be surprised if she weaponized her shades.

    My main theory with Lion is that he is some kind of construct in the vain of Holo-Pearl, the small Centipeedles, or the drill parasites. Since we can be certain Rose was one of the most powerful Gems, it would make sense that she could create a construct with Lion’s level of free-will and power. And we already have evidence of these constructs being able to exist after their creators poof.
