Entertainment Weekly has the scoop for us. Relevant to our interests: Steven Universe will be airing new episodes all summer starting in June!
In an odd decision however, it appears that the new “seasons” are 26 episodes long rather than 52, so while the article mentions five seasons of Steven Universe they are still the same 156 episodes we already knew about.

So this means we’ve been on seasonal break this whole time?
Now the silence since Steven Bomb 4 makes sense, just wish they’d have told us this earlier.

Steven Universe doesn’t really do “seasonal breaks”. Remember, we went right from Ocean Gem to House Guest, then from Jailbreak to Full Disclosure. Heck, since it says “season three” will be “continuing”, that means that we got another season transition in the last bomb.
so log date was the first episode in season 3 by their reasoning. that sounds….logical >.>
The new season designation makes sense but ought to be applied retroactively. If It Could Have Been Great/Message Received is a end-of-season finale then Mirror Gem/Ocean Gem ought to be too.

I don’t know, I’ve become pretty fond of calling them the mid-season pre-finales.
I heard about this, and to be honest, I don’t understand all the fuss. its just the return of weekly episodes, correct? and if its not that, its probably just a stevenbomb per month. and we get a downgraded from 50-some episodes per season to some thing like 25. so Message Received was a season finale without anyone knowing. and for some reason everyone is acting like this is the end of a war.
yeah, there’s nothing to really get excited for, the hiatus will continue for another 2 months…
ikr
it’s comme ci comme ca for me. The end is in sight, far off though it may be.
