Color us very surprised that this is actually real, but it’s Ian Jones-Quartey tweeting the article out.
We’re not entirely sure on how to feel about this, really. As canon hawks, though, we rather doubt that it will be considered to have “actually happened” as far as the show’s continuity is concerned.

Oh, I hope this is just a “What If…” episode, I love Steven Universe but I’m not overly fond of Uncle Grandpa, the 2 don’t seem like they would/could mix well together. With SU’s awesome action and story/lore and UG’s randomness that’s most of the time just not funny (to me anyways), I’m not sure how successful this crossover will be :/

Well either way, the fandom’s kind of a mess over it. It actually looks like this has generated more activity than the January re-run blackout.
If it’s all revealed to be a Garnet’s Universe-style fantasy sequence I’ll be fine with it. Even if it was posited as a “this is what it would be like if they could meet.” I’d only be upset if I was expected to believe that they inhabited the same world. Though Uncle Grandpa’s escapades would explain why people seem to care so little about magic stuff…
I’d be fine a Garnet’s Universe style episode, but, like you, I don’t like the idea of Steven and Uncle Grandpa living in the same cartoon world.
